ABOUT THE ARTIST - Pati Bryant
I have had a passion for photography since childhood. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be an artist, and every step of my education has moved me in that direction. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Photography from Sam Houston State University, with a minor in Fine Art. My fine art studies helped shape my understanding of design, composition, and visual storytelling.
My career in photography began in the world of fine art. I worked with the slow and deliberate process of using an 8×10 Deardorff view camera and printing with traditional methods such as albumen, platinum-palladium, and salt prints. This foundation became an excellent platform for exploring other specialties in photography. Shooting with a view camera teaches intention—it requires slowing down and making every image purposeful.
In 1996, I founded Blossom Photography to continue pursuing an artistic career while focusing on the natural beauty of children and families. Capturing authentic moments—tiny fingers and toes, a toothless grin, or the quiet bond between siblings—remains the heart of my work. These moments pass so quickly and are easily forgotten with time. My goal is to preserve the small details that mean so much when they are no longer part of everyday life.
I am a Certified Professional Photographer and a member of Professional Photographers of America, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Texas Professional Photographers Association and the Houston Guild of Professional Photographers.
